BNI Witham Official Launch Day 11th May 2012

BNI Witham in Essex has officially launched. The morning started bright and early for me at 4.30am. It is a time that should really only come around once a day but getting up nice and early to travel the 25 miles to Witham was a must to ensure that I was there for an earlier than usual start. Most of the local members had beaten me there and had helped set up the room beautifully for the forth coming meeting.

Guests started arriving at 6.30am when Benton Hall opened it’s doors. By 7am all the guests had arrived and the venue was heaving with local business people from all walks of life. Priti Patel the local Witham MP was there networking too.  The meeting ran well and a number of guests immediately decided to join the group with other deciding to return to see us again this coming week.

Dr Viven D’arcy and Robert French did the honours of cutting the cake on the day.

If you’d like to come along to one of the BNI Witham meetings held ever Friday at 6.45am simply give me a call on 01206 398170 or fill in the contact form. For more information on the BNI or our chapter go to www.bniwitham.co.uk. You can check out the current members including myself at www.bniwitham.co.uk/members/

Joycie B boudoir photography session March 2012 in London

Joycie B is a normal 40′s+ modern woman. She recently won a makeover and photography prize and has now become addicted to modelling. After seeing my work on Model Mayhem and getting in contact with me I arranged to go to her London home to capture her for a boudoir photography session. We shot a variety of locations which can be found in almost any home using her cherished lingerie. I prefer to use natural light when photographing anybody as the light is so much more flattering for my clients. Joycie was a delight to work with and shows that stunning beauty is in bountiful supply in today’s 40′s+ modern woman.
If you’d like a boudoir session of your own whether it’s on location, here at my studio or shot in the privacy of your own home. Please get in touch and be assured that all my client images are strictly kept private and confidential.  To discuss your boudoir / lingerie / glamour photography shoot in Essex, North London or Suffolk please feel free to give me a call on (01206) 398-170 or use the contact form at the top of the page.

Twitter and facebook fan page photography featuring Helen Putman from Combat Pests

Helen is a contract killer in fact she’s well know for her pulp fiction impersonations at network meetings up and down 4N networking in Essex. I’d recently been working on a fashion moodboard involving women and guns and thought Helen represented an excellent opportunity to run with the idea given her line of work.

Now while Helen is the front for the contract killing operation she doesn’t like to get her hands dirty. The shoot involved getting up close and personal with a couple of dead rats that Ray had managed to finish off! The shoot took place at Combat Pests HQ and a few deserted back lanes close by. We’d discussed style prior to the shoot day and Helen dressed accordingly. The shoot itself lasted about 3 hours and was enjoyed by all.

The images from the shoot now adorn Combat Pest’s twitter profile and facebook page. A few of my favourite images are shown below.

If you feel your business could benefit from a photography make over why give me a call to discuss your requirements on (01206) 398170 or contact me via the contact section above.

Here is a little more info on Helen and Combat Pests in her own words.

Helen, with her partner Ray, runs a contract killing operation, or as others prefer to call it a pest control business.  Operating throughout North London and East Anglia their HQ is based just outside Colchester, amongst the leafy lanes of Eight Ash Green.

The technical work is carried out by Ray and his team, helping keep businesses and households free of vermin.  These include rats, mice, cockroaches, fleas and the occasional few thousand drunken wasps (in autumn when they get inebriated on the fermenting fruit).  All the latest techniques are applied and humane methods are always used, in this line of work it is essential that you are constantly re-training and using up-to-date processes.  Pest prevention is far more preferable than reacting to a problem – often businesses realise it is better to have a reasonably priced contract than total closure to deal with an emergency.

Helen’s previous business life involved corporate operations at a senior level, meaning long hours and lots of travel all of which was not conducive with a young family.  Now she is responsible for ensuring the non-technical aspects of the business are running smoothly, plus promoting the business in all manner of ways.  This includes regular networking, where she is known to don black suit, tie, sunglasses and perform a ‘pulp fiction/men in black routine’ – thankfully she avoided the monochrome look for the photographic shoot!!  Another feature of her networking slot is poetry – having written daft ditties for years it seemed a natural to include them in her business presentation.

They are happy to carry out free site surveys for your premises and will then provide recommendations and a no obligation quote.

You can contact Helen via her website http://www.combatpests.co.uk or follow her on twitter @CombatPests

Business fortnight: twitter profile image for Sarah Tapley

Yet another stunning woman walks through Sanctuary Photography’s doors on Monday in the shape of Sarah Tapley. No need to guess why I met her, yep 4 networking Colchester ( I should be on commission!) . Anyway I digress , Sarah was in the market for some suitable images for using on Twitter after taking Paul Weston’s crash course in how to use Twitter for business . Like a few before her I shot her on my now famous backgrounds along with her friend Sidney. (I’m sure he’s an ex!) . All was good inside except the weather outside was very overcast which on a wedding day I pray for but today I was in the mood for some good old fashioned sun. Needless to say I had to create my own as the British weather wasn’t likely to play ball with me. I’ve just found out my Fuji camera has a commander mode which pretty much equals FUN with a speed flash. It got the job done creating my own sun with less messing about meaning more images and time with the client.
If you fancy a social media experience and a good laugh doing it then feel free to book me for a good old session. You can call me on 01206 398170
